Dynamite

I took the kids to the movie store to rent movies on Friday. They each got a movie and I picked up Napolean Dynamite for me. This movie and I have some history. I have rented it 4 times and have yet to see it. The first time the disc was broken, second time I had no time to watch it, third time hubby and I sit down to watch it and the disc plays through the begining credits and will not play anymore, fourth time I again had no time to watch it. So tell me should I try again or just let it be one of those things when people talk about it I just don't get it?

You MUST make time to see it!! It has to be one of the slowest, weird, waiting for something to happen, yet funniest movies ever. Plus, there are some great quotable lines in it, too. :)

Watch it then go by the "vote for pedro" tee-shirt.
It's one of those movies that is dumb as shit but will make you laugh your butt off.

You can't miss it. The really funny thing is that one of the coolest kids that my husband works with looks just like him and when I hear him talk now it's hard not to laugh.

This has been a recurring theme in my life. Dr. Phil actually showed a clip from it yesterday, someone at work was insisting that I watch it today, and now you. Maybe we both need to watch it.

I'm chiming in on the side of "Yes, Watch it!!"

But I might be a little biased considering I once lived in Preston, Idaho; The Highway you see in the background of many of the open scenes was the only place I've ever gone over 100mph on a motorcycle; I went to "Ricks College" (Napolean wears a "Ricks College" T-Shirt in one scene); I went to school with a blond girl named "Summer"; Jared Hess (writer and director) is the son of a guy who grew up in the same neighborhood as me; (and last but not least) some of my friends saw this movie before I'd even heard of it and told me I need to see it because it is such a "Ted" movie! (Ok, I admit it, I love B-Movies!).

OMG, you have to see it. My wife and I love it, it's one of our favorite movies! We were in big-giant-store-mart a couple weeks ago and my son Junior found a toy Napoleon and he bought it for his stepmom. It was flippin great!

I'd never even heard of it, but now I think I'll have to watch it. And thank goodness I now know where the "vote for Pedro" t-shirts come from. Watch it, and give us a review.

You must make time to see it. We all know someone like Napolean. My whole family quote parts of the movie. Great but mindless dribble.

It's just so damn dumb, you have to love it. Keb is right (this is the second time tonight I've followed her on someone's blog), we all know a "Napoleon"...

Some movies are like that: you rent 'em, but never get around to seeing 'em. Others, your kids insist on renting every time you go to the store, but for some reason you never end up buying 'em.

Even though it costs under a dollar to rent Rugrats in Paris (which includes some amazing Cyndi Lauper music, BTW), my kids steadfastly refuse our offers to buy it. I guess it's the magic of choosing it in the rental aisle.

We likely could have bought it by now, though.

Visiting again from Michele's. I really enjoy exploring your online archives.
