The Amazing Race

I love this show. I think this season is going to be awesome. The teams are made up of families, some all adults but 2 have young children. I have not decided who I like the best yet. Usually it is the team from close to home but they kinda got on my nerves early so I am going to have to watch and see who I am going to root for. So what about you Do you watch The Amazing Race?

Whole Lotta Nothin

There is so much(family drama) going on right now but nothing that I can talk about until I find out the entire story. I hate when that side of me comes out you know the one the calm rational one that says lets hear both sides and not jump to any conclusions. I used to not be that person I used to be the okay she said what let's kick her ass person. Now I have kids and have to set a good example and be calm and rational when my heart tells me it is all true and this person is lower than pond scum. I know very vague stuff I am saying and I have to be that way because what if she is reading and she tries to cover her ass and I never get to the truth to satisfy my calm rational self. Then where will I be?!?!? I know this probably does not make any sense at all but I feel better just typing it.

My To Do List

1. Make note cards for anatomy
2. Finish note cards for history
3. Finish laundry
4. Call school to see why my loan has not been processed
5. Clean out my car
6. Finish take home quiz for math
7. Call denist for the kids
8. Clean birdcages
9. Wash dog
and the list goes on.... I am going to be one busy woman today.

Saturday Classes and other stuff

I just got home from my two Sat. Classes and I am T-I-R-E-D. I took a test in math last week, I missed 3 which sucks for me because that is a B. I made a B on my history test today which was awesome because I did not even pick up the notes to study until this week. Glad that it was not so bad.

I made the banana bread that Puremood had on her site a couple days ago and it was fabulous! My kids ate it like it was the best thing on earth. So now I need a recipe for oatmeal cookies without raisins.

Now I am going to watch some TV with my kids. Have a happy day!

Happy Birthday Jakob

Today is my son Jakob's birthday. He would have been six today. Jakob was born still on September 23, 1999. I was 41 weeks pregnant and his umbilical cord got wrapped around his neck the night before I went into labor. I went to the hospital and they could not find his heartbeat so they did an ultrasound and found out that his heart had stopped beating. I went through a regular labor and delivery and my son was born at 2:04 am six years ago today. My son was perfect he weighed 9lbs 6.5 ozs he was 22 inches long with white blonde hair. We held our son, took pictures with him, had him baptized, and then my husband sang him the song Wild Frontier by Faith Hill. It seems that as the years go by I learn to cope and deal on a new level. This year I went to the cemetery and put out fresh flowers and cleaned up. Said a prayer, asked my grandparents to make sure to sing my baby Happy Birthday in Heaven. I am usually pretty private with my day today, but for some reason I felt the need to write about this today so I am.

Breast Cancer Site

I am very active with Ralay for Life. I walk with the team from my kids school and help out in every way that I can. A friend recently sent me a link to a site that helps fund mammograms for underprivileged women. All you gott do is go to the site and click on the fund mammograms button, best thing is you can do it everyday. If you shop in their store that helps also. Buy from a sponsor even more help. So go click, shop, and buy!!!

Here we go again...

Not that we have not had enough with hurricanes this year. Rita is still at TS but she is expected to gain stregnth and may hit the already ravaged gulf coast. I am saying many prayers that she does just the opposite.

School Stuff

I started back to school almost 2 years ago. I had to make up grades for classes that I never withdrew from. I have had my work cut out for me. I am not a great math student and have made all A's and B's in my math classes. I think that this is quite amazing seeing how I have taken all but one of my math classes online and basically taught myself. I have worked my butt off to make good grades because to get into the program I am trying to get into you need to have as close to a 4.0 as possible. I have a 3.791 in my pre req classes. So here is where my little problem comes in. Back in 1992 during my first year in college I took English 1 and got a B. This one crappy B may keep me from getting a confirmed seat in my program. The counselor told me that I will most likely get an alternate seat for the program. So if someone who gets into the program does not show up then I will get in. I just think that it is unfair that a grade I received when I was 18 and fresh out of high school may keep me from pursuing my dream..:(

Ice Cream

Do you have just one thing you could eat any time any place. For me it is ice cream. My favorite is vanilla with choc syrup on top. I am now having a mild obsession with Ben & Jerry's Dublin Mudslide but I am sure that will wear off soon... I hope! The kids are in bed, hubby is sleeping, I just finished studying for the night, and here I sit blogging and eating B&J's Dublin Mudslide. I swear it is the best ice cream I ever ate. Any who hope everyone is having a great week so far.

What Was I Thinking and Other 6 am Ramblings

When I signed up for a weekend class? I never get to sleep in now. I am sitting here waiting for my coffee to get done and everyone else is alseep, even the dog. Not only did I sign up for a weekend class but I signed up for an 8 am Math class. I do have another weekend class(interpersonal communication) coming up but that one will not be so bad it is 4 saturday and sundays from 1-6pm and then you are done.

I took my son out last night for a mommy and son night. He had a blast and all we did was go to a couple store and pick up stuff his dad needs for a camping trip. I did get him some magnets with the ABC's for the fridge so that he can start learning how to spell his name. He also got some cool prek work books to help with writing and letters.

The hairbows are going good. I made the first Halloween one last night and my girls are fighting over it. Cathy is the only one that said she would pay that for hairbows and you know what at certain points yesterday I was right there with her. I even goi back on ebay to see if I could find some more cheap...lol. It is not just about cute ribbon and making loops. Anyway as soon as my mom gets back from New York with the camera I will post a picture of our cute Halloween bows.

Okay more ramblings after school. Have a great morning!

Criminal Background Check

I am taking a class at macdill Air Force Base this semester and needed to supply them with a criminal background check. I get the packet in the mail, complete it, and mail it in. The waiting begins...The longer I wait the more nervous I get. Funny thing is I know that I have never done anything wrong. I was thinking I must be some weirdo to be worried about this and then I had this conversation with my friend...

Her: Did your finger prints ever come back?
Me: Not yet
Her: Are you worried?
Me: I laugh
Her: When I had to send away for mine I was nervous as heck they would come back with something. I had never done anything wrong and even had security clearance with the military.
Me: thank God so I am not the only weirdo in the world.

So what about you have you ever had to have a background check? Were you worried? BTW mine came back with no criminal background!

Survivor

Okay so I am not a BB watcher but I am a survivor fan. I have watched this show every season from the start. I am usually pretty good at picking the winners. I have been so obsessed that I have even arranged my school schedule so that I do not go to school on Thursday nights. I am so excited that survivor is going to be coming back on. So I know where I will be on Thursday the 15th at 8pm. Oh and I would not want to leave out the next best show in the CBS line-up The Amazing Race starts on Tuesday the 27th.

Hairbows

I am in the wrong business. I need to learn how to make hairbows. Being the good mother that I am when my youngest daughter says I would like some hairbows I hit ebay! I figure where else am I going to find hairbows that are made out of ruler ribbon? Oops sold out of those but boy mom those Halloween ones are super cute. I can take a hint and the bidding begins. I am willing to pay a fair amount for the bows or am I??? I bid $5.00 bucks and was the high bidder until today. These bows are up to $10.51 and don't even close for 2+ hours. I am including a picture of the bows and making a public apology to my daughters because I am not paying that much for the bows. I did however make a trip to the craft store tonight to buy ribbon. I got some really cute fall ribbon. I am going to attempt to make my girls bows myself. I will keep you posted on that progress. Oh one more thing if anyone has some really good instructions on making hairbows could you please send them my way.

We Can Help

I know that for the first couple days after Katrina struck I felt complete helplessness. I was lost as to what to do and then through the eyes of children I figured it out. The kids at the school where my girls go to school started a fundraiser to be donated to the American Red Cross. In less than 6 hours they had collected well over $100 in $1 dollar bills. These kids gave up lunch and snack money to help others. So I decided to do the same on my blog this weekend. Simply click the we can help link above and donate to the Red Cross to help those people in the aftermath of Katrina. I know that gas prices are soaring and that it is taking it's toll on all of us, but consider packing your lunch this week and donating the money you would have spent on lunch this week.

Mommy Meltdown

I am on the verge of mommy meltdown. I am usually pretty stable and usually don't let things ruffle my feathers. Today that is just not the case. I am on the verge of busting a blood vessel in my head. I think that I need a vacation. My kids talk and I just stare at them like they are talking to me in some other language. My friend called and I sent her to voicemail because to tell you the truth the only time she ever calls is when she needs someone to dump on. I have just had it. My mom is acting like a 2 year old because the mother she has not had the time of day for in the last 10 years left her nothing in her will(as a matter of fact she left everything to one person and they are not sharing). I feel like I am doing everything. I work, go to school, PTA, not to mention anything that needs to be done in my house is my job. I think my kids and husband should have to spend a week or so without me and then maybe they will see what it is like to do everything I do. Now I feel bad because I have become the friend who calls when she needs to dump on someone, problem is I just dumped on the entire www.

I promise this will pass and my normal posts will return... oh hell who am I trying to kid my posts were never normal.
